"The Yule Lads"
My contribution to the Toy Art Gallery's Christmas Kaiju show. These characters are taken from 17th century Icelandic folklore. The Yule Lads are traditionally said to be the sons of the mountain-dwelling trolls Gryla and Leppaluoi. Gryla would steal the naughty children to feed her bedridden husband Leppaluio. In this version, Gryla would send out the lads to fetch the children.
